Medicinal Uses of Bergamot Oil:
Bergamot comes from a mint family. This aromatic herb has many medicinal uses. The leaves and flowers are used to cure cold, fever, insomnia, head aches and such health problems. A steam inhalation of these leaves or oil will hep cure inflamed mucus membranes. It is also antiseptic to fight infections due to bacteria, skin decease and bruises. The leaves and flowers of Bergamot can be used to prepare tea.
Benefits of Bergamot Oil:
The fresh leaves are added to jellies, lemonade, wine and the like to add extra taste and flavour. The Bergamot oil is also used in aromatherapy. It is also used as a fragrant addition to facial creams and lotions.
Bergamot Oil Cautions for Use:
Pregnant women are advised against using this oil as it may stimulate contractions in uterus. Continuous or excessive use of this oil may cause nausea, vomiting, convulsions and allergy on the skin. Therefore, people can use this oil after necessary consultation with their physicians.
